behavior will occur. Suicide risk factors are things
that increase the potential for a person's suicide
or suicidal behavior.

Protective factors against youth suicide are less
well studied, however some known protective factors
are discussed.
Prevention Of Youth Suicide
There are several things that we can do to prevent
youth suicides. Some of these are general in nature,
while others are more specific.
How Can I Help?
All suicide threats must be taken seriously. Do not
assume the situation will cure itself. It is far
better to take action if the possibility of suicide
exists, than to deal with the aftermath of a
suicide.
