The Nevada Academy of Health was originally created
by the 2007 Nevada Legislature through Senate Bill
171. The 2009 Legislature extended the Academy and
modified its membership and charge. Among its
duties, the Academy shall:
- Study various issues relating to health care in Nevada, including access and quality, the training of health care providers and accountability.
- Analyze and evaluate data relating to health care in Nevada.
- Promote cooperation and partnerships between the public and private sectors, including the development and implementation of health information technology.
- Provide technical assistance and advice to the Legislative Committee on Health Care and the Department of Health and Human Services.
