FAMILY TO FAMILY CONNECTION

Family to Family Connection Photo"A celebration and recognition of Nevada's infants and their families."

Family to Family Connection builds upon the strengths of children, families, and communities to support the child within the family and the family within the neighborhood. This statewide effort creates a comprehensive network that encourages optimal child growth and development through community-based public and private partnerships.

Your new baby is a bundle of pure delight. But as you're quickly finding out, he or she is also quite a handful! Parenting a newborn through their toddler years can be quite a challenge for today's modern parent. Creating an educational and emotional support system for parents with infants from birth to 48 months of age is the main idea behind Family to Family Connection. There are 18 service areas throughout the state, which provide a variety of services tailored to the individual needs of the communities that they serve.

If your baby is birth to 48 months, contact us and we will connect you with the New Baby Center closest to you!

Each Service Area provides the following services:

  • NEW BABY CENTERS

Each Service Area has at least one New Baby Center, which strives to provide a comfortable "homey" feeling where parents can bring their baby and interact with other parents of infants and toddlers. In addition to informal opportunities for networking, parents can attend any of the following scheduled activities: informative classes and workshops on a variety of parenting topics including infant CPR and infant massage, play groups to assist in the development of baby's socialization skills, and support groups that include working parents and single parents. Each center provides a calendar and newsletter, which are sent out monthly and outline all upcoming events. The New Baby Centers are staffed by child development specialists and trained professionals who are willing and able to give "adult answers to baby questions."

  • RESOURCE LENDING CENTERS

Each New Baby Center also houses a Resource Lending Center, which functions as a lending library. The Resource Lending Centers are equipped with the latest books and videos, covering issues such as child development, parenting, and nutrition. There are also age-appropriate developmental toys and supplies for your quickly developing child. Some Resource Lending Centers are even able to provide diapers or formula for families in need.
