The Task Force for a Healthy Nevada is committed
to demonstrable results. To this end, the Task
Force allocated a small percentage of funding to
evaluate its grants programs to improve health
care for children and disability services, and
an evaluation plan was developed. The evaluation
plan will help answer many important questions
over the next five years, such as:
- Who are the customers served by Task
Force grants?
- What are some of the lessons learned by
grantees?
- What systemic or policy changes have
come about as a result of the funded
programs?
- What can the Task Force or State do to
assist grantees in being successful?
In partnership with the Task Force, grantees
will be critical to collecting the data
necessary to answer these questions. To assist
grantees, a variety of evaluation tools will be
designed. In addition,
technical assistance will be available to
assist with using reporting tools and selecting
"Uniform Measures." Uniform Measures are used to
tell how well a program, agency, or service
system is working in achieving the desired
results. For example, if your goal is the early
detection of oral health disease, one of your
Uniform Measures might be "percent of children
diagnosed with oral health disease who have
access to appropriate dental care including
education, prevention, and treatment."
Once Uniform Measures are selected by grantees,
the tools they elect to use to report on their
progress toward improving Uniform Measures are
optional. Grantees will report on Uniform
Measures quarterly and with an annual report
that includes fourth-quarter and cumulative data
for the 12-month period.
Note that the Evaluation Plan was created based
on the "Results-Based Accountability Model." To
