AGE:
Applicant and spouse (if spouse is also applying)must be 62 years of age at the date of
application.
INCOME: Effective July 1, 2007: Total
combined applicant and spouse income can be no
more than $32,742 per year. Total income for a
single person can be no more than $24,561 per
year.
RESIDENCY: Applicants must have lived
continuously in Nevada for at least one year (12
consecutive months) PRIOR to the date of
application.
ELIGIBILITY FOR SSI/MEDICAID: You cannot
receive full Medicaid benefits (prescription
benefits) and Senior Rx at the same time.
If you are eligible for SSI (Supplemental Security
Income) in Nevada, you are also eligible for full
Medicaid benefits. Individuals who qualify for
Medicaid may receive:
Full prescription
benefits if the individual is not eligible for Medicare Part D; or
Maximum federal
help with Medicare Part D costs such as
premiums, deductibles, co-payments, and coverage
gap protection if the individual is
eligible for Medicare Part D. (Note that
maximum federal help still leaves minimal co-payments
for Part D drugs.
However, the State of Nevada will pay those
co-payments for most individuals who are eligible for
full Medicaid.)
