The Office of Health Information Technology is
responsible for administering Nevada’s ARRA HITECH
State Health Information Exchange (HIE) Cooperative
Agreement, facilitating the core infrastructure and
capacity that will enable statewide HIE and
coordinating related Health IT initiatives.
As the HIE Proof of Concept phase of Nevada’s State Health IT
Plan,
NV DIRECT allows
participants to send authenticated, encrypted patient health
information directly to known, trusted recipients. This
electronic HIE capability enables providers to share
relevant and authorized patient medical information directly
and securely with each other.
