Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) Resource Center - http://www.bpdresourcecenter.org
A resource center affiliated with New York Presbyterian Hospital-Weill Cornell Medical College that works to provide broad-based support for people diagnosed with borderline personality disorder, and their families. The center works with patients and their families to identify the best and most appropriate treatment options. The website offers a variety of resources, including information about disorders that often occur simultaneously with borderline personality disorder.

Center for the Promotion of Mental Health in Juvenile Justice - http://www.promotementalhealth.org/index.htm
This center at Columbia University was created in 2001 to address the high prevalence of mental illness among inmates in juvenile facilities across the nation. The Center has sites around the country dedicated to assisting community members and administrators in juvenile detention facilities to develop appropriate mental health measures for inmates and disseminating evidence-based practices.

The Columbia University TeenScreen® Program works by creating partnerships with schools and communities and helping them to implement their own screening programs to identify at-risk teens and pre-teens. The program is now used in high schools and other settings in 26 states. It was developed under the leadership of David Shaffer, M.D., the Director of the Columbia University's Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.

Developed by Harvard psychiatrist Douglas Jacobs, M.D. and the Screening for Mental Health, Inc, Stop a Suicide, Today! teaches how to recognize the signs of suicide in family members, friends and co-workers, and empowers people to make a difference in the lives of loved ones. It emphasizes the relationship between suicide and mental illness and the notion that a key step in reducing suicide is to get those in need into mental health treatment. The project is endorsed by two national mental health organizations and co-sponsored by twelve additional organizations.

American Association of Suicidology (AAS) - http://www.suicidology.org
AAS is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the understanding and prevention of suicide. Its site is designed as a resource for anyone concerned about suicide, including AAS members, suicide researchers, therapists, prevention specialists, survivors of suicide, and people who are themselves in crisis. AAS hosts an annual conference every April; publishes a peer-reviewed professional journal, Suicide and Life-Threatening Behavior; and provides resources for survivors, including Surviving Suicide, a quarterly newsletter written by and for survivors of suicide.

NVDRS: National Violent Death Reporting System - http://www.cdc.gov/ncipc/profiles/nvdrs/default.htm
State and local agencies use this system to input detailed information from medical examiners, coroners, police, crime labs and death certificates that could answer important fundamental questions about violence. NVDRS then pools these valuable data to better depict the scope and nature of violence.

WISQARS (Web-based Injury Statistics Query and Reporting System): Fatal Injuries: Mortality Reports -

A database of U.S. injury mortality data that generates tables of injury deaths and death rates by particular causes of injury mortality. You may select outputs by 5 year age groups or by single year of age. The mortality data reported in WISQARS is from death certificate data reported to the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS), CDC. NCHS collects, compiles, verifies and prepares these data for release to the public. The process takes approximately 18 months after the end of a given year.
