Graduate Medical Education Task Force
Many Nevadans live in a primary care Health Professional Shortage Area; and nearly all Nevadans live in a mental Health Professional Shortage Area; and Nevada has a severe shortage of licensed healthcare specialists across the state and many Nevadans are forced to seek treatment out of state for specialty areas.
There is a current critical need to expand, develop and promote Graduate Medical Education in Nevada to improve access and availability of qualified licensed health professionals so as to better meet the medical needs of communities throughout the state.
Task Force Purpose
The Task Force shall make recommendations in a report to the Governor on how to increase the graduate medical workforce in Nevada.
