Nevada Deaf Commission to host Town Hall Meetings

April meetings scheduled to gather input for 2025 Legislative Session

The Nevada Commission for Persons who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing invite the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community to upcoming town hall meetings to gather input on proposed advocacy for the 83rd Legislative Session and provide community members with information about the Commission’s legislative initiatives. The Commission will utilize town hall information for additional legislative requests and prepare for the December 2024 Engagement Conference.

The Commission will be hosting three in-person town hall meeting throughout Nevada:
• Tuesday, April 9, 6-8 p.m. at the White Pine County Library, 950 Campton St., Ely
• Tuesday, April 16, 6-8 p.m. at the Aging and Disability Service Division Reno Office, 9670 Gateway Drive, Suite 299, Reno
• Thursday, April 25, 6-8 p.m. the College of Southern Nevada West Charleston Campus, 6375 W. Charleston Blvd., D-101, Las Vegas
The Commission encourages community members, advocates, and organizations with an interest in Deaf and Hard of Hearing issues to participate in these town hall meetings.

The mission of the Commission is to ensure all Nevada citizens will have equal and full access to resources, services, and opportunities in all aspects of community life. To accomplish this mission, the Commission works to advocate for and support equal and full access across the state.

For individuals who are not able to attend one of the scheduled town hall meetings, comments may also be emailed to NVDeafCommission@adsd.nv.gov.
