We have become a nation of superior wealth in comparison to our brethren, but we have yet to gain superior wisdom or superior compassion. Our prosperity, fortunate as it may be, has not yet led to an end to hunger, homelessness, or illness.
Even in this time of depression, among us there is enough wealth and resources to affect much change, to rid the world of hunger, homelessness and minister to all those who are ill. The change needs to start here, in our backyard, our community.
