Public Awareness Media Campaign
"Treatment is Available" - a limited media campaign televised in
northern and southern Nevada during the months of May and June to inform
the public that treatment is available for problem gamblers and their
families.

The Prevention Initiative will continue and expand statewide prevention services that are currently provided in support of the Department of Health and Human Services' Problem Gambling Services Strategic Plan. These services include information dissemination, community outreach and education, Problem Gambling Awareness Month activities, online information and referral resources, advocacy, and mini-grant projects through the Gambling Awareness Prevention Partnership.

The Workforce Training Initiative will focus on
development and delivery of training in problem gambling counselor core
competencies for Nevada professionals, and development of a gambling-infused
SBIRT (Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment) module
(G-SBIRT).
- Sponsorship: Nevada State Conference
The Annual Nevada State Conference on Problem Gambling will provide training, education, and networking opportunities for Nevada mental health, addiction treatment, and related professionals. The conference will also provide qualified mental health professionals with the educational requirements to become back-up problem gambling counselors per the Nevada Problem Gambling Treatment Provider Standards.
