Cindy Pitlock appointed to lead Child and Family Services

Nevada Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) Director Richard Whitley has announced that Cindy Pitlock, DNP, APRN, CNM, has been appointed as Administrator of the Division of Child and Family Services (DCFS).

“I am proud to have Cindy at the helm of DCFS and I know her background will serve her well in this role,” said Director Whitley. “Her years of experience as a nurse will benefit the families and children of Nevada.”

Administrator Pitlock earned the degree of Doctor of Nursing Practice and is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse/Certified Nurse Midwife with a clinical specialty in full-scope women’s health. She holds a Public Policy Certificate from the National Institute for Lobbying & Ethics, and an Executive Leadership Certificate from Cornell University.

She also serves as the President of the Nevada Advanced Practice Nurses Association, guiding the membership through legislative, policy, and practice issues.

Prior to joining the Division of Child and Family Services in September 2021, she served as a Community Health Nurse 4 for the Division of Public and Behavioral Health. She most recently served as interim administrator of DCFS.

“I am thrilled and honored to lead DCFS into the next chapter of our service to Nevada’s families during such a time of need,” said Administrator Pitlock.

She started in the role of Division Administrator on February 1.
