How to Apply for Health Insurance/Medicaid Brochure
Apply for Medicaid and/or Nevada Check Up (Click Here)
Medicaid

Provides health care coverage for many people including low income families with children whose family income is at or below 133% percent of poverty, Supplemental Security Income (SSI) recipients, certain Medicare beneficiaries, and recipients of adoption assistance, foster care and some children aging out of foster care. The DHCFP also operates five Home or Community-Based Services waivers offered to certain persons throughout the state. The Division of Welfare and Supportive Services (DWSS) determines eligibility for the Medicaid program. Information regarding eligibility is available on line at https://dwss.nv.gov/ or by calling toll free at 1-800-992-0900.

Nevada Check Up
The Mission of the Nevada Check Up program is to provide low-cost, comprehensive health care coverage to low income, uninsured children (birth through 18) who are not covered by private insurance or Medicaid; while (1) promoting health care coverage for children; (2) encouraging individual responsibility; and (3) working with public and private health care providers and community advocates for children.
Senior Rx
The program covers 100% of prescription medication costs for eligible seniors (62 years and older) while they are in the coverage gap (donut hole).
Disability Rx
The program covers 100% of prescription medication costs for eligible persons with disabilities (18-61 years old) while they are in the coverage gap (donut hole).
Nevada Primary Care Association

The Nevada Primary Care Association strives to make healthy communities in Nevada a reality by strengthening the collective efforts of the health centers to increase access to high-quality, comprehensive primary care for all.

Nevada Health Centers

At Nevada Health Centers, we believe that all people, regardless of where they live or their ability to pay, have the right to access affordable, quality medical and dental care. That's why we offer over 16 health center locations throughout Nevada. Everyone is welcome at our health facilities and we offer a sliding fee scale for uninsured patients based on family income.

Find a health center near you.

Community Health Alliance
For 16 years, Community Health Alliance (formerly HAWC) has provided quality medical and dental care to the medically disenfranchised in northern Nevada.  Access to health care in Nevada is a persistent problem.  CHA serves more than 30,000 patients a year with preventative and primary health care.
Volunteers in Medicine of Southern Nevada

We have become a nation of superior wealth in comparison to our brethren, but we have yet to gain superior wisdom or superior compassion. Our prosperity, fortunate as it may be, has not yet led to an end to hunger, homelessness, or illness.

Even in this time of depression, among us there is enough wealth and resources to affect much change, to rid the world of hunger, homelessness and minister to all those who are ill. The change needs to start here, in our backyard, our community.

Access to Healthcare Network

Access to Healthcare solves healthcare challenges. Since 2006, we have been developing services that help individuals, families, and organizations manage healthcare effectively and affordably. From finding an appropriate plan to coordinating care, from making community connections to offering eligibility screening–we help make sure healthcare access is available for all Nevadans.

Northern Nevada HOPES
Northern Nevada HOPES is a Community Health Center in Reno. They provide integrated medical and wellness services to the insured and uninsured in our community. HOPES welcomes all individuals, wherever they are in life, and provide a safe and accepting place to access affordable, high-quality healthcare services.
FirstMed Health and Wellness
Founded in 2009, FirstMed Health and Wellness provides comprehensive preventive and primary healthcare services to the low-income families of Las Vegas. FirstMed is easily accessible to the medically underserved Paradise and Winchester neighborhoods.
